Near the entrance of the Audubon Center of the North Woods
Welcome to the Audubon Center of the North Woods, a privately owned residential environmental learning center. Find out more about us (and get driving directions!) at (visit link) Our cache location reflects the farming history of this land, as well as our efforts to restore native habitats. As you drive in the stone pillars, look to your left at our newly restored prairie. Formerly a farmed field, you should be able to find evidence of all of the stones the farmer removed in order to plant crops as you search for the cache. Local children received 1¢ for each rock they removed!
The Audubon Center is open to the public Monday - Saturday. Stop by the office to pick up a map of the property so that you can enjoy hiking on our eight miles of trails, which are groomed for cross country skiing in the winter.
Sierra is the cat the lived with the interns for two years. She is leaving the Center this month, so this cache is in honor of her! It's original contents include goodies from our nature store and playing cards from Germany.
