Geocache Description:

A nice multicache off Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto.

The cache is not at the coordinates listed! Follow the instructions below to construct the coordinates for the actual cache location.

Welcome to the Elizabeth F. Gamble Gardens, a community horticultural foundation, designed to maintain and restore the gardens and buildings and to provide opportunities for education, observation, and participation in an urban garden center. It is open daily without charge during daylight hours. More information is available from free brochures provided in several places throughout the gardens. The gardens may be rented for special events such as weddings. If you come across a wedding, you should be able to do all steps of this cache without interfering very much.

At several different places in the park there are park maps posted. Look for the item on the map plaque that says "Roots and Shoots". A = the number to the left of these words.
B = the number of old fashioned (but electric) lanterns on the front wall of the place where vehicles were stored when this house was originally in use.
Go up the steps. Find a plaque with the date 19xx. F and C are the last two digits of the date, respectively (19FC).
On a sunny day, you could tell time in the garden on this time-keeping device. D = the number of words in the third line of text on the face of the device.
Near the perennials there is a bronze plaque with the words "Named Endowment Funds 19x5. E = the third digit of the date (19E5).
