Geo Duct 1 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

AndrewRJ: This cache has run its usefull life. I was out with friends today and finally got over to check on it. I havn't been very good at keeping it up and the log has been so wet its badly mildued. In addition while the container is still working it has long since lost its shape, turning it more into a duct tape pouch. I am giving up on this cache and letting someone else have a chance and this great spot. Thanks to all that visited.

Geocache Description:

Geo Duct 1: A simple "take-only" cache along the Puget Power Trail

"There's nothing you can't do if you have a Swiss Army Knife, a roll of duct tape, and your wits." - MacGyver

This themed cache is a tribute to the wonder tool Duct Tape. The cache is filled with small rolls of duct tape, just like MacGyver used to carry in his back pocket. I can’t tell you how many times, a small roll of duct tape has gotten me out of a pickle. This cache is a “take only” cache. Please don’t leave anything, just take a small roll and put it in your pocket, purse, backpack, or bag. It will be there when you need it. You’ll soon find yourself relying on having a roll close by. When the stash gets low, I’ll restock as needed.

There are an unlimited number of things that can be fixed with duct tape. Some of these include: Band-aid, boot repair, rain coat repair, patch ripped clothing, repair broken hoses, attach leg splint to broken leg, repairing leak in tire/inner tube, fix vacuum cleaner hose, tape ski boot to your ski when the binding breaks, repair seams of ski gloves, patch hole in canoe, wrap your ankle for sports, remove lint from clothes, and many others.

The cache is located along the well-traveled Puget Power Trail. It meets up with the Sammamish River Trail at this location: 47 41.385 122 08.055 Parking is very difficult. If you are not already on the Sammamish River Trail finding other caches, parking can be had at 101st Court and Redmond Woodinville Road (N 47 41.465 W 122 07.786 ). (Thanks Blindleader)

No bushwhacking is necessary and the cache is reachable while standing on the path, so be careful to watch for people and horses while retrieving it. GPS signals can be very spotty in this portion of the trail, so you may have to use the hints.

While you are here, take a minute to walk along the lower portion of the trail and view the wetland reclamation project that was recently completed.

Enjoy the hunting. DMacGyver

Other quotes about duct tape from MacGyver:

"For the past seven years I have done nothing but travel around the world getting shot up, locked up, blown up...and all I have to show for it are a couple of empty rolls of duct tape."

"He can fix anything. He can fix a computer with a hairpin and a piece of duct tape."

"If I had some duct tape, I could fix that."
