Geocache Description:

This is a cache for the displaced New Englanders in California. Many have made the pilgrimage from the cold Northeast to sunny California in search of new opportunities and adventures. This cache will hopefully help New England natives bring back some good memories of home and help everyone else learn more about those "small and squiggly" states on the east coast.

**** The cache is not at the given coordinates. "X" does NOT mark the spot! Keep reading... ****

The cache container has been replaced with a "baby soda bottle" due to multiple muggling and a nearby homeless resident, so trading opportunities are limited. If you're from New England, please also log your state. Please use the attachment wire to keep squirrels and the earth's gravity from misplacing this cache..

For automobiles, between 9 am and 6 pm when the Red Sox are in season, you'll need the toll from West Stockbridge to Newton on the Mass Pike plus 40 cents to access the cache. The rest of the year and at off-hours is free...or park to the west, near the dump (GC1AY8M), and bicycle or walk about a mile on Caribbean Drive.

True Story: I went to AAA to get some maps for this cache and some other trips. I asked the woman behind the counter for New England maps. She asked which states, and I just asked for all the New England states. She came back with maps of New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine... and Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. This was at a travel agency.

With that in mind, you'll need to know a bit about New England before you can find this cache. For native New Englanders, this should be wicked easy. For the rest of you, add a star to the difficulty.
