Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to -=(GEO)=- who introduced me to caching. It is in one of my favorite locations in Seattle. I usually walk there, but parking can be found around Volunteer Park / Capitol Hill. Bring your own pen - this is a microcache. Since the container is a bit too easy to find, I may convert this cache to virtual, so be warned :)

This cache consists of three waypoints: the first is already given to you, and the last is the microcache container itself. Because the area has many visitors, the first two waypoints are not actual caches, but are physical locations associated with some numbers. You will have to do some math!

Since the park is small, all lat/lon coords are of type 47 37.xxx N and 122 18.yyy W. We'll do the math on the last three digits (after the dot). Let's call these three digit numbers X1 = 732 and Y1 = 874 for waypoint 1. You'll need to find the corresponding X2, Y2 for WP2 and X3, Y3 for WP3.

Now that you are at WP1, look at the marble gate of the brick building. There is a number inscribed with Latin numerals above the entrance. Let's call this number L and write it down. Now enter and go up the stairs.

Take your time to look around. On the wall you'll see a pink map of the Seattle Park System which was placed there in the year S not too long ago. Write that big pink number down. On the same map of Seattle, there is some information. In which year was the oldest park established? Call it P. Hint: it is not Denny Park. Also, how many athletic fields are there in Seattle's parks? Call this number A.

Let's sit down on the bench and do some math:
Multiply the second digit of P by the third digit of P.
Add result to X1 to get X2.
Now divide A by 5 and add result to Y1 to get Y2.
Both X2 and Y2 are three-digit numbers.
Now go to WP2 which is 47 37.(X2) N and 122 18.(Y2) W

Look at the hole. What is the name of the distinct object right in front of you? It says nearby. Write down the year of its creation as B.

X3 = X2 + 1 + (B-P)
Y3 = Y2 - 1 - (S-L)
Both X3 and Y3 are three-digit numbers.
Now go to WP3 which is 47 37.(X3) N and 122 18.(Y3) W

Please make sure to visit the cache during daylight hours.
Also, don't post the location of the final cache :) Please leave the container hidden in the same manner and location as you found it!

Beware of the muggles and happy hunting!
