Geocache Description:

Located on hiking trails at Indian Point-Blagden Perserve. Walking or light hiking shoes will be fine. Sorry, no pets or picnics.

After crossing the Trenton Causeway onto Mount Desert, bear right at the intersection onto Rt. 102/198. At 1.8 miles, turn right onto Indian Point Rd. and bear right at the first fork. The entrance is about 200 yds on the right. Maps are available at the parking lot. Take the Big Wood Trail until you cross a paved road, about 1.2 miles. Then take the Fern Trail to the cache. The cache has been placed to avoid any disturbance of vegetation and fauna. It is near the trail and you don't have to move anything to find it. Cache is in a green quart-size Tupperware container with a white top. Be sure to take the Shore Trail and sit in the Adirondacks and watch the seals and pups on the rocks. Bring binoculars. Can be found year round. The coordinates have been updated and hopefully will be closer but the tree cover can be a problem.
