Cache Logs
 September 22 by MGB/FLW (1389 found)
We had a delightful hike in and found the cache. This was our 1300th cache find and we were glad it was this one. It is always a thrill to find the old ones and to think about the people who started this game that gives us so much pleasure. Thanks for keeping this one alive. The hike out was nice, too and was enhanced by the fact that we had found the cache!

I'm finally able to claim a find on this cache with, but not with out the extreme help of my friend TEF. Grabbed the 9-9-9 travel bug... it was strangely familiar... and left a log on the back cover of the original logbook under team - one -'s log from earlier this week. The pen in the cache was barely useable, but I managed to finish out my note. Had a great time looking at all the familiar names both old and new in the log book. I was able to find Brian - Team A.I.'s log pretty quickly, but Regan had to point me out to his, since I didn't have a clue when he was at the cache for the first time.

Definitely glad I didn't try this one solo, as it was a pretty extreme little hike for someone in my condition. I really need to do more rural caching and less drive-by's. As I got close to where I parked, for a few moment's it seemed like I could no longer see in color... that was something new and scary. I didn't notice any animals besides the vultures that were following me, until I got back to the suburban... then it seemed like everywhere there were lizards. But the lizards could have just been an hallucination...

After I dropped of Regan, I was driving home, I phoned a friend to describe my experience... especially the black and white vision and the lizards.... she almost accused me of being drunk, but knew better that I don't drink alcohol. Maybe it was heat stroke... "There was the incident with the lizards, but I'm doing much better now."

Thanks Snakebusters for the cache, and God above for that nice big rock on the top of that rise, where I got to sit down on for a while and rest my legs.

Find #1100

What a beautiful morning to get this cache! We celebrated the 9th anniversary of this cache a few days ago at the 09-09-09 event and knew we had to make the find soon! We are very lucky to have run into some nice non-cachers at the gate and trailed them in since we were too late to stop by the ranger station yesterday. Made the hike in just after sunrise.

The cache is still in great condition considering how old it is! We enjoyed looking through the contents and reading the logbook for several minutes. TN/L: Hello Kitty tin and our newest TB to start its journey. Thank you for the oldest cache in AZ and a new milestone for us!

We've been caching since 2002, and this is our 2000th find. That's a significant milestone, so we picked this Arizona milestone cache to tag for #2000. We were long overdue to visit this cache. The team is about to split up as Ranger Charlie is about to leave the nest and head off for NAU. This may be the last cache for a while that we will be able to find together as a full team. Thanks for starting things off in Arizona!
