There are several viewing platforms in various places around the
property and an observation tower from which you have a 360 deg.
view of the marsh and sound. A featured highlight is the osprey
platform located a short distance into the marsh, so bring your
binoculars in Spring or checkout the online webcam.
There is a trail leading to a dock on the beach to the south,
from which a variety of waterfowl can be seen, including endangered
piping plovers and least turns, one of the few locations where they
successfully raise chicks!
If you plan your visit during high tide, you will be treated to
spectacular water views, during low tide, the marsh teams with
birdlife feeding.
Please be very discrete and return the cache exactly
where it was--if anyone comes along simply look out at the
views!
This cache is winter-friendly and available dawn to dusk.
Although a kid-friendly area, as a challenging microcache the
highlight for kids would be the grounds and nature center. The
center
itself closes at 4:00 and isn't open Mondays.
(The logbook is now "Rite in Rain" so wet's OK.)
