Welcome to the first in what will hopefully be a series of
caches for Lowcountry adventure seekers. This one is a tribute to
Tube
Torcher.
This cache may be rated too high. Let me know what you think in
your log or by email.
Before you attempt this cache, you will need to know a few
things about the hunt itself and the environment you will be
hunting in.
THE HUNT:
This is a multi-stage geocache hunt inspired by Tube
Torcher by IndianaLee & CrotalusRex. We have not done
that one yet, but have been watching it and quivering with envy and
anticipation each time a new log entry is made. We've since
been able to complete that legendary and awesome cache. Don't
expect an adventure in the same vein. Though this one is
challenging, it is a different challenge.
Since we haven't been able to go there, and there are none here
that rival it, we decided to put a similar cache here in Berkeley
County. The coordinates lead you to your first clue. If you find
it, you will have an idea of what kind of situations you will be
getting into for the rest of the hunt.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Although this hunt will require travel of less than 1 mile, it
will take at least 4 hours to complete. Swamp Thing went from start
to finish in 3 hours, 15 minutes with no additional help from us.
Let us know how long it did take you. If you are afraid of or
unsure of your capabilities to handle: heights; tight spaces; local
wildlife like snakes, every kind of spider known in SC, ticks,
mosquitoes, leeches, birds, rodents, reptiles, or bees; getting
dirty, wet, cold, hot, scratched up, bruised, blistered, or
exhausted - then you should seriously reconsider going on this
geocache hunt. At least one of these things will happen to you on
this hunt. However, if you think "Fear Factor" and "Survivor" have
nothing you can't handle, this will be the hunt for you. (And we
won't ask you to purposefully ingest anything disgusting.)
