This is in Northern California near Yuba City. Three good prizes,
on public land, WGS 84. Hint: Don't drink beer, it'll give you gas.
Note: The above is the orignal text in the short description. The
hint referred to a gas pipe which is no longer there.
This cache was the first one placed in Northern California. A few
years later, the bridge over it's location was replaced. It is live
again, and the coordinates reflect a move of about ten feet. The
container is a piece of PVC pipe with end caps. Enjoy again!

December 31, 2009 by John&Amber (384 found) Grabbed this one late yesterday on the way to Rocklin for a NYE celebration. Wasn't there the first time we came by and it was great that the owner replaced it. Got there just as dusk was fading into night and realized how many spiders there actually are around this cache. When we located the cache, it was being protected by about 6 spiders the size of my gps screen (maybe not quite but seemed like it). Spiders don't bug me but I still don't stick my hand into a mass of them. Finally (after a while) managed to get it out and kick it around a little to get the spiders off. Was a real cool thing to grab the oldest active cache in CA and one of the first ones ever. Thanks for replacing it for us to grab!

November 23, 2009 by GTS1 (1056 found) Quick find on the way back from visiting some family. This one has been on my list for a while, took a little different way home so I could grab this one. Thanks for the chance to stretch the legs. TFTC

November 5, 2009 by rvjn (2633 found) WOW! Look at the date this cache was first placed! Sept. 2000! Now that's awhile ago for sure. The oldest cache in Northern California. Sure makes our "oldest cache" list. Nice easy find although a long drive to get here. Appreciate those who continue to care for these 'original' caches. Fun to update our statistics with this one.

November 4, 2009 by rvlonnie (2632 found) Rving South for the Winter and stopped in Colusa for the night. Made a quick run East to pick up a few caches in new counties. Wow this is an old cache. Glad RVJN spotted it on the list as fills in another box on our matrix of finding at least 1 cache that was hidden in every month from the start of Geocaching. Nice quick grab and dash as its getting late. Thanks for putting the cache out and keeping it going all these years.
