Geocache Description:

This requires some off road driving to get to. Although a 4x4 would be better, it is NOT necessary. I did it in a PT Cruiser. Rented mind you, but I did it. DO NOT try and go through the middle of the puddles. (see photo)

Elevation changes get pretty hairy. Some of the steepest terrain I've seen in Suffolk County. Which make this cache a little challenging and extremely beautiful. Take you time, and most kids won't have a problem with it. The hike, once you find the trail head, is just about a ½ mile. Check the spoiler only if you have to. I made it short so you could decode it on the trail. You won't have any real bushwhacking. Just some light underbrush around the cache site. The cache it self is an ammo can in a black bag. It shouldn't be visible even when your right on it. Please take your time and re-hide it well. The cache contains my usual wide array of stuff. From a Swiss Army Tool & Compass key chain to Play-doe & a matchbox car. It has about 20 or so items in it. Now a little story about a rented PT Cruiser that thought it was a Jeep. My car is getting some work on it so I rented a PT Cruiser. The dirt road is kind of hairy but I was able to make the trip a couple of times with no problem. Well after hiding the cache I get a little brave and try and go through the middle of a very large puddle. I made it about 3/4 of the way through, then I bottomed out and got stuck. My wheels were more than half way under water. Tried to go back and forth to no avail. Way to go hot shot, now what. OK, who do I know with a 4x4, tow rope, a G.P.S. and would actually think driving into the woods as it was getting dark to pull my dumb @$$ out of the mud? 10BetweenUs. He was there in about 10 minutes. (see photos) Pulled me out lickety split no $&!t. However, the trade off was he got to log the FTF on this cache. Well worth it. So, there ya have it. You can do this in a medium size car, just stay to the sides of large puddles. 10BetweenUs will charge $75 for every Geocacher he has to pull out.
