Caches in the "Ball" series
Ball
One: Sick's Seattle Stadium
Ball
Two: Kingdome
Ball
Three: Safeco Field
Ball
Four
This cache owes its name to Ball Four, the brilliant
exposé written by Jim Bouton, former Seattle Pilot. Though
the book doesn't directly relate to the cache, I do wish to
recommend it to anyone who loves baseball -- especially if you live
in Seattle.
The listed coordinates will take you to a familiar place,
though, chances are you've never been there before. There is
nothing hidden at this spot. Using the clue from the "Ball Three"
cache should get you pretty close to a small laminated three-digit
number that is located near the cache listing. Call that number
YYY.
The actual cache is hidden at the coordinates:
N 47° 35.XXX
W 122° 19.YYY
The value for XXX? If you've found the "Ball One" and
"Ball Two" caches, you've been given a clue in the form of a
question. The answer to that question is the name of a former major
league baseball player. All you have to do is determine how many
home runs the mystery player hit in his career. Multiply that
number by 149 and take the last three digits of the result. Those
three digits are XXX.
The cache is a small ammo can, and should contain some
baseball-related goodies, and, a copy of the Ball Four book. If you
take the book, please treat this as a "lending library" and return
the book to the cache as soon as possible, so other cachers can
borrow it.
Good luck!
