Geocache Description:

The famous Temple of Philae is one of Nubia's valuable treasures. At the time of building the High Dam, it was threatened to sunk underneath the newly formed Lake Nasser. Between 1972 & 1980 UNESCO led a multimillion dollar project of relocating the whole temple complex from its original site to the Island of Agilkia northwest of Philae Island. The temple dedicated to the ancient goddess Isis was trans-located block by block that in the end summed up to 40,000 blocks weighting a total of 20,000 tons.

As for our cache there, it is - so far - Egypt's smallest cache, a small round-shape container the size of a makeup item canister; check the pic to know what you are looking for.

The temple is a delight to visit, the views are breath taking and the boat ride to the island is simply a soul treat, so take my advice and enjoy every minute of this treasure hunt

Enjoy geocaching.....
