Geocache Description:

a beautiful place over the Lago Maggiore

This traditional cache lies near the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso Ballaro, built in the twelfth century (Eremo di Santa Caterina del Sasso Ballaro). In Autumn, you will not more find here good tasting chestnuts (maroni) from huge old trees, they cut them down in 2009 :(. It was a good place for pique-nique and save for Childrens to play. The acces to the cache became more difficult because of the quick growing vegetation.

Park your car on the official parkground.

AND DON'T FORGET TO VISIT THE HERMITAGE!
