Geocache Description:

Built in 2000, this Mosque is situated at the corner of Brown Street and Mime Street. It is surrounded by warehouses. This site was selected due to its proximity to the City Centre and the two Universities in Dundee, thereby maximising accessibility, particularly for students.

The cost of the land with two warehouses was £214,000. The entire sum was gathered from the Muslims of Dundee. The total cost of the new Mosque including a separate building for the Madressa, mortuary and toilets is approximately £2,000,000. The new Mosque is built on two floors and accommodates 750 Muslims. This is the first purpose built Mosque in Dundee, and is a tourist attraction as well as a place of worship. For this reason, every effort was made to ensure that the construction was built to the highest standards.
