Geocache Description:

Rubh an Dunain is a peninsular in the shadow of the Cuillin, the cache is hidden in the remains of an old croft. The walk is about 3 miles from car parking at Glen Brittle beach, there is a good track to follow except for the final quarter of a mile.

This walk has dramatic scenery and is rich in history. There is a chambered cairn dating from the bronze age and is the best preserved on Skye. The Dun or fort dates from the iron age, below it is a canal believed to date from the Vikings!
The easiest route is to follow the track, when the wall is reached turn left and you will see the ruins where the cache is hidden. The cache is a clear tupperware with blue clips and contains pencil, pad and a few trinkets, enjoy!
After you've found the cache, cross over to the wall, turn left and follow a path to the right. Eventually a ruined house should come into view, this was the home of Chief of MacAskill until the nineteenth century. Continue to the edge of Loch na h-airde, where the fort will be seen rising above the canal.
Be aware of the drop from the Dun and keep young children under close supervision. clips and contains pencil, pad and a few trinkets, enjoy!
