Geocache Description:

Backmuir woods is a 45 hectare woodland cared for by The Woodland Trust in partnership with a management group from the local community.

The mixture of mature and new woodland and the wide variety of trees provide a haven for many kinds of wildlife. Jays, woodpeckers, buzzards, ferns, fungi, roe deer and red squirrels are part of that natural mix.

There are about 9km of trails, including 1.5km on a surfaced, all-abilities track. The remainder being woodland trails which can become soft and muddy after rain, so sturdy footwear is advised. The gently sloping terrain offers views over the Tay to the south and the Sidlaws to the north.

Cache is set for Backmuir woods event on Sunday 23rd October. Please do not log these caches before this date.

This cache we dedicated to Bob and his inabilities to keep hold of his possessions! Well, he is getting on in years... and it has been placed to help him find all the things he has lost (except perhaps his good humour)!

In case you are unaware, Bob, like a fine wine, does not always travel well and the thought of venturing East of Harthill is often viewed as a decidedly dodgy idea. Anyway, here are the answers to his recently submitted questions; Its Ok we've got the Lochee Fleet, Dundee's version of armed guards booked specially for you and for a fiver and a pack of rollie up papers they'll also guard your car. Backmuir is a stones throw from Ninewells Hospital so first aid is close at hand and by the way, I'm told they have an excellent geriatric department there. The weather will of course be tropical but please bring your own liquid refreshments..... (if you think the answers are bad then you should have seen the questions - sheesh!)

As with many caches set by the good man himself the container may or may not be at the given co-ords - just depends on how naff they were when we took them.

Cache is a lock and lock box, but be warned...it has a guardian!
