Many websites and tourist brochures report the 'Monte
Generoso' as the mountain with the finest landscape in the Ticino
region, and it's very easy to agree with that, since the entire
mountain has many different and great vista points that shows great
views of the surroundings. On clear days you can really get
breathless landscapes on the Apls and on the Lugano Lake and
whatever you like to do (walking, hiking, biking or just sitting
and relax) 'Monte Generoso' is a nice place for that. In winter is
just a little bit too cold, but if you like the snow, well, you
will love the place.
The 'Bellavista Station' is simply one of the stops of the
very neat train that starts from the town of Capolago and takes
you, in less than an hour, to the 'Vetta' (about 1700 mt.) of the
'Monte Generoso'.
This is the easiest and fun way to get to the cache. But you can
also use the car. There is a parking lot at about 1150 mt., and
from there you can follow a path and hike up to the station in
about 10/15 minutes.
Once you reach the 'Bellavista Station' there is a path that
starts not far from there, going along a private building, probably
an old Hotel station. The cache is pretty close to the beginning of
that path.
On October 28th, the cache has been replaced and moved (old
coords were N45 54.643, E9 00.023). The new container is a small
white box (it held chewingums). Inside there is a small logbook, a
micromachine, 2 incense cones, a swarovski rose broch and one
british coin. Unfortunately there is no pen/pensil inside. The
container is very small, so you will not be able to put anything
big in it...
