Part of a 2005 ten-cache series to honor TeamAlamo's achievement of
hitting 10,000 caches found and becoming the penultimate
geocacher in the world at that time.
2024 edit: In 19 years, Alamogul has gone from 10000 caches to 233,500.
The Series:
There were ten caches in this series. Each cache contained
one-tenth of a $10,000 bill with a number on it. The ten numbers were used to find the final cache!
A bit of history - Lee's 5000th cache:
One year prior, TeamAlamo (ie Alamogul) reached the 5000
milestone. A coast-to-coast cacher, Lee celebrated 5000 at an event
in West Palm Beach, Florida. Fast forward one year, and that number
has incredibly doubled to 10,000 finds. I am pleased and proud to
have cached many of those in his company. Thanks Lee.
This cache:
Steep... twice as steep as typical. But short and sweet, topping
out at 1000 feet.. There's a nice view of the City, the Bay, SFO,
and even Mount Diablo. Cachingwise, this may be a two-fer. Lee
likes that.
For the trailheads, I located three. “Paul” knows the Way up a path. “Firth” does too. Posted
signs refer to vehicles rather than foot traffic.
