I have created a series of caches that are based on JRR Tolkien
trilogy the Lord of the rings. These caches do not have to be
completed in order; however you will need to collect clues in some
caches to complete other caches later in the series. There will be
six sub-series of caches one for each of the original six books. I
will try to incorporate an event or place from the books into each
cache. You will need do research or find clues in the books. Some
answers may be found in the movies. In each cache you will find a
clue that you will need in order to find the final cache for each
book. The final cache in each book will then provide a clue to a
master cache at the end of all six series. Be sure to write down
each clue. I have used three different references to collect the
facts for these caches, the movies, a three book paper back set and
the 50th Anniversary Edition both printed by Houghton Mifflin. Good
luck and have fun working on and completing these caches.
The other caches in Book one series
are:

GCV6K4)
LOTR #2 The shadow of The Past(
GCV645)
LOTR #3 Three is Company
(GCV6JY)
LOTR #4 A Short Cut to Mushrooms and A Conspiracy Unmasked
(GCV7WC)
LOTR #5 The Old Forest
(GCV7WJ)
LOTR #6 Tom Bombadil /The Fog on Barrow-Downs
(GCV7WK)
LOTR #7 At the Sign of the Prancing Pony

Book Two caches
LOTR 2-2 The Council Of Elrond (
GCW2CH)
The main event in this chapter in the introduction of strider
and the discovery that two black rider are hiding in Bree and
almost capture Merry who has been out strolling along. We also
learn that Butterbur has a letter from Gandalf explaining that
Frodo should set off and leave the Shire before the end July and
that a trusted friend called Strider will be watching for them
along the road. Gandalf has also left a clue to identify the real
Strider.
To solve this cache you will need the clue Gandalf left Frodo
so he could truly identify Strider (five words). Use your answer to
decrypt the coordinates.
