I have created a series of caches that are based on JRR Tolkien
trilogy the Lord of the rings. These caches do not have to be
completed in order; however you will need to collect clues in some
caches to complete other caches later in the series. There will be
six sub-series of caches one for each of the original six books. I
will try to incorporate an event or place from the books into each
cache. You will need do research or find clues in the books. Some
answers may be found in the movies. In each cache you will find a
clue that you will need in order to find the final cache for each
book. The final cache in each book will then provide a clue to a
master cache at the end of all six series. Be sure to write down
each clue. I have used three different references to collect the
facts for these caches, the movies, a three book paper back set and
the 50th Anniversary Edition both printed by Houghton Mifflin. Good
luck and have fun working on and completing these caches.

As Frodo and company sleep in Bree three Black riders attack
Frodo’s home back in Crickhollow and discover that the hobbits have
left. The same night two black rider also break into the hobbit
rooms at the inn searching for ring and the Hobbits. On the advice
of Strider they slept in the palour and were protected by Strider
during the night. The next morning Butterbur discovers that all the
ponies and horses are gone. This delays the party from leaving Bree
and all the Bree-folk watch or follow them when leaving. They
finally leave three hours late and with only one old pony. Six days
out of Bree they reach their first destination and discover they
missed Gandalf by three days. In the nigh they are attacked by the
black riders and Frodo is stabbed in the shoulder.
To find the cache you will need the answers from the first
four caches in book one series.
A = Last Digit of the year when the Fellowship of the rings
was published.
B = In the Movie version the number of Hobbits in the party
who leave Bag End.
