Livermore Larupper
Grab your dog and your bat and head over to Max Baer park! The
park is in honor of a famous American boxer of the 1930s, onetime
Heavyweight Champion of the World, and actor, our very own Max
Baer. Although he wasn't born here, he was raised in Livermore as a
butcher and often credited working as a butcher boy and carrying
heavy carcasses of meat for developing his powerful shoulders. For
more info on Max Baer go here . There are
interesting tidbits about his fights with Max Schmeling and the
Cinderella Man.
For me this is a very special park, because I often go to
softball practices here while my husband takes the dog to the small
dog park (where she can run leashless). The dog park is featured in
"Dog Lover's Guide to California" and the author is right that some
afternoons as many as 20 dogs can gather.
The cache is a small tupperware container hidden in the park.
Please be aware of your surroundings, the park can be extremely
busy at times, so stealth is required. For that alone I bumped up
the difficulty level. Otherwise it is pretty straightforward.
Please re-hide well, we don't want muggle-kids to find this now, do
we? :). Congrats to CrazyOn2Wheels for the FTF!
