Geocache Description:

Nope it's not underwater and you'll find this cache a little difficult to get to if you try and walk it. You may need some divine inspiration to cross the waters, or a boat purchance???

The best place to start from is Bowness. On the lake shore of Windermere near to where the steamers dock, you will find a place where you can hire rowing boats (£3/hour adults, £1.50/hour kids). You can get life jackets for the little ones as well. Don't be put off by the difficulty rating that is only because you need a boat to get to the cache. Once you're in the boat the rest is up to the GPS and your arms, heave ho. You'll have to find an island, but which one???? Landing should be easy, however, it might be an idea for one of the team to be wearing sandals and rolled up trousers to pull the boat into a natural landing area.

This cache has a nautical theme, so we ask that you try and maintain this by swapping prizes which relate to boats, sea, rivers, or water creatures.

Please don't let your boat drift off, make sure you've secured it properly and take care.

Please note: The island has become a bit of a bird hot spot since we placed the cache. We have placed the cache away from the birds to the south side - so take extra care not to disturb them - especially if they are nesting!!
