Geocache Description:

This common was created on the spoil & waste from the Bold Colliery & Power Station. A diverse landscape with water features including lagoons, streams, wetland areas (and a fishery), focal points, artworks, seating areas and an amphitheater all serve to make the whole site a beautiful and peaceful place to explore as well as important habitat for wildlife. The widespread network of paths ensures good access for walkers, cyclists and horseriders.

Colliers' Moss Common -130 hectares of post industrial land straddling the main Manchester to Liverpool railway line to the south east of St Helens, Merseyside.
To the south - the remains of Bold Colliery and Bold Power Station. To the north - fragments of a once extensive wetland at the fringes of a coal spoil heap.
In 1990 Groundwork St Helens, Knowsley and Sefton accepted the challenge from British Coal to restore the site. Reclamation work would accelerate and enhance natural re-colonisation to create a nature-rich urban common for local people.
With the help of local users natural regeneration and community involvement went hand in hand. Habitats developed include wetlands (using existing lagoons), grassland, heathland, woodland and untreated colonising spoil. Colonies of orchids have been encouraged to spread and new species of wildlife are arriving each year.
The site is now widely used by local residents for fishing, dog-walking and exercise.

You are looking for a 35mm canister placed within another "container", There is a log book and pencil for you to log your find.

There are various points from which you can enter the common, Bonnie and I parked at the co-ords below but it is really your choice.

Can be muddy in places but generally well made paths. As always please respect the surrounding area, please clean up after your pets and as there is water nearby, please take care with the little ones.

Please make sure that the cache is not visible after re-hiding as it is quite near to a path.
Also there is a website with more info such as location , buses etc:

Enjoy our 4th cache and Good luck

***When we placed the cache, we had an accuracy of 10ft but it looks like the overhead power supply is affecting the co-ords as some of you have experienced. We apologise for this 'act of god' and hope that you still enjoy the hunt.***
