Geocache Description:

Thanks to gcherry for originally placing this cache! Congratulations to JFoxPotter on finishing the challenge in only 36 days and snagging the FTF!!!

Welcome to the Vancouver Grid Challenge! This challenge will take you far and wide in our great little city, to places you’ve been to frequently, and maybe some places you’ve never visited before. The cache is absolutely not located at the posted coordinates. In order to complete this challenge you must complete the steps below. Some are really easy, some are, well, not. 1) Print the included grid map of the Vancouver area. Each square is a two-minute by two-minute area. (Wasn’t that easy?) 2) Use the grid map to find one cache within each of the 33 areas. No event caches, locationless caches, CITO events, or virtual caches count. All finds must be in Washington. Cache finds start the day the Vancouver Grid Challenge is published (17 Nov 09). Puzzle caches and multi-caches will count for the grid the solved coordinates are within. If there are no unfound caches in any area, it’s time to get creative. Talk someone into putting one out there for you, and everyone else, to find. Solve that puzzle cache that has driven you crazy for years. Wheel and deal with other local cachers. Do what you must, but unlike bingo, there are no free spaces on this card. 3) After you have found a cache in each area, you are approved to find the final cache. I CANNOT require you to contact me prior to finding the final cache location, but if you would like me to verify your eligibility before you head out I am happy to do it. The coordinates are listed below as an additional waypoint. 4) You MUST submit proof of your finds in each of the 33 areas either before finding the final cache or within 72 hours of logging your find of the final cache. This would preferably be in the form of a bookmark list, or send me an email with the GC number of each of your finds. If you do not submit the required proof within 72 hours of logging your find, I WILL DELETE YOUR LOG WITHOUT WARNING. The cache is a five gallon bucket covered in black duct tape. A hike and some bushwhacking will be involved. Wear long pants and long sleeves.

Be aware there can be flooding in wet months, bring tall boots if so. At N 45 41.178 W 122 45.954 follow the trail and at N45 41.406 W122 45.956 turn off the trail and go NE to the cache.

Cache coords are not exact. Look at the base of the largest tree, with 4 trunks at this writing, under large sticks and bark. There is a park entry fee. Good luck to you on your journey, I look forward to hearing about your adventures! Please close container tightly!!
