Geocache Description:

Team Marzipan's "The Mother Cache" (GC15RYZ) has been placed to celebrate their 100th cache hide. The object of The Mother Cache is for finders to take one of the ready-made caches to hide it as a Daughter Cache. This cache is my contribution.
Many thanks to Team Marzipan for their considerable contribution to the sport and for this excellent idea

This daughter can be found within 100 yards of the Jane Austen Museum in Chawton.

Jane Austen is one of the most popular and important novelists that England has ever produced. The house at Chawton is where she spent the last eight years of her life. It is of international importance as the place where she did the majority of her mature writing, but at the same time retains the charm of a village home.

Jane moved to Chawton in 1809. While living in the house that is now the museum she wrote four of her novels. Sense & Sensibility was published in 1811, Pride & Prejudice in 1813, Mansfield Park in 1814 and finally Emma in 1815. Two further novels were published after her death, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.

Due to recent film and TV adaptions ,the musuem is now visited by over 30,000 people a year (so beware of muggles)

The narrow footpath has been recently cleared but can get overgrown
