After a long spell in this spot, Waikaraka Walkway has up and moved a small way (thanks Riser5) because of the possibility of logging starting up in the immediate area.
A pleasant if steep walk from the end of the road with some great views back to Whangarei. Please take extra care if there is any sign of logging activity in the area.
Once you get to the top of the hill; to the right there is a gap through the trees to be able to head into the bush.
You will find a fair size Puriri tree with large branches hanging to the ground. Go past this one and head down further. There is another Puriri tree further down the hill.
When you reach this Puriri you will find another large tree growing root over the Puriri's roots.
Under this trees roots is where the cache has been re hidden.
