UPDATE OCTOBER 2005: PATRICK AND I HAVE RELOCATED THIS CACHE TO A MORE SUITABLE LOCATION. WE BELIEVE THIS CACHE IS ONE OF THE MANY PLUNDERED BY THE CACHE PIRATES OPERATING IN THIS AREA IN RECENT MONTHS.Since it's in a new location, it's open to all cachers once more!

Welcome to Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery..with many very old stones, dating back to the 1840's and 50's.This cemetery contains burials removed from other cemeteries when the Reservoir was formed. Older cemeteries incorporated here include: Bank; Captain Dixon; Chester Troyer; Mount Vernon; Ogan; Pleasant Grove; Somerset; Sugar Grove; Vernon; Waucoon and Wm. T. Hosier. There are Lots of birdhouses here with active nests.


THOMAS H. STINEMAN, CO. I 18TH INFANTRY, THE FIRST WABASH BOY TO DIE FOR HIS COUNTRY DURING THE WORLD WAR; WAS ENLISTED APRIL 24, 1917; HE DIED JUNE 2, 1918 FROM WOUNDS RECEIVED AT CANTIGNY, FRANCE. THE WABASH POST OF THE AMERICAN LEGION WAS NAMED THOS. STINEMAN POST IN HIS HONOR. HIS BODY WAS RETURNED AND HE IS BURIED HERE.
