Basilica Minor Traditional Cache

Svaty Hostyn
je nejnavstevovanejsim poutnim mistem na Morave a po Velehrade také nejpamatnejsim. Jiz po tri stoleti je hostynska hora (735 m n.m.) se svou marianskou svatyni (Basilica minor) cilem tisicu poutniku, kteri zde nachazeji utociste ve svých zivotnich strastech i potrebach. Cetne archeologicke pruzkumy prokazaly osidleni tohoto mista jiz ve starsi dobe kamenne. Pozornosti však neuniknou zbytky opevneni (celkovy obvod pres 1.800 metru) tzv. latenske kultury, jejimiz nositeli byli Keltove. Vyzkumy potvrdily domnenku, ze Hostyn byl (po Starem Hradisku u Protivanova) druhym keltskym oppidem na Morave. 

Na Hostyn je zakaz vjezdu motorovych vozidel. Auto je mozno nechat na parkovisti pod Hostynem vedle hrbitova (N 49°23.682´ E017°40.794´) a nahoru jit pesky, pouzit autobus nebo taxi.

Holy Hostyn
is the most frequently visited pilgrimage shrine in Moravia and after Velehrad the most memorable one. For three centuries now thousands of pilgrims have been converging on Hostyn mountain (735 meter above sea level) with its sanctuary of Our Lady (a Basilica minor) to seek and find there a refuge from their troubles and needs.
Several archeological surveys of the location have shown traces of habitation from as far back as the Late Stone Age. The remnants of a fortification (with a circumference of more than 1.800 meters) of the La Tene culture of the Celts are conspicuous there. Recent research has vindicated the assumption that Hostyn was the second Celtic oppidum in Moravia (the first being Stare Hradisko near Protivanov).


There is no entry for cars to Hostyn. It is possible to leave the car on the parking lot below Hostyn next to cemetery (N 49°23.682´ E017°40.794´) and walk up the hill, use the bus or taxi.
