Geocache Description:

Boreham House is a truly amazing Grade I listed mansion with a stately avenue of trees between which there is a breathtaking lake.

Originally built around 1730 for Benjamin Hoare Esq, it was embellished with fine marbles and other materials including a staircase from the nearby New Hall, owned by Henry VIII.

In 1931 Henry Ford purchased the estate and set up Fordson Estates Limited. It was given to Ford Motor Co in 1952 and then eventually went into private ownership.

Today it is used for weddings and ceremonies.

The cache is a micro container containing log book and pencil. This can be a simple cache and dash but do take time to admire the view to the house!
