This cache is located along the Missouri River. May be impossible
to reach if the water level rises unless you have a boat.
Cache consists of a clear tupperware container with a matchbox car
and three cd's with software (freeware) relating to GPS and
coordinate transformation. All three cd's are the same. A good
starting spot is the parking lot at St. Stanislaus park.

February 3 by Mongo (0 found) Greetings fellow geocacher, Looks like this cache may need a little attention here. From reading the last several logs it appears this cache is in need of some maintenance, or has been temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) so I don't archive the listing for non-communication. Once you have made the repairs make sure you enable the cache again by writing an owners note. If the "Needs Maintenance" attribute is showing you will need to also write a "Owners Maintenance" note to remove it. (visit link) If not repaired, this one is scheduled to be archived next month on my next check of disabled caches. I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to Geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the near future. Hope this gets fixed up soon, Mongo Groundspeak Reviewer

January 11 by kukaua (210 found) So we (NateDawgCC, Merkdog and Yoooee) made the long trek out to this cache and it was quite the adventure. Crossing to the first island over the ice was the craziest. We crossed near some pylons so we would have something to grab onto if the ice broke, but the ice was thinnest near the pylons and my foot broke through as I was reaching for one. Luckily my boots only took on a small bit of water so we were able to carry on. Once we got to the other side of the big island, near the cache coords, we found the 'island' where the cache was supposed to be, but it seems that the whole island has been washed away sometime during the floods of the past couple of years. Hence this cache is long gone now! We couldn't cross to the flat sand bar where the island used to be to get to GZ as the river was flowing and full of little icebergs. It was quite the adventure, but it looks like this one needs to be put out of it's misery.

January 9 by YOOOEE (75 found) Tried to get this cache with NateDawgCC, Merkdog, and kukaua, but there was too much water and ice in our way. The island looks to be nearly eradicated and it's unlikely that the cache is still there...

January 9 by NateDawgCC (1271 found) Spent the day caching with kukaua, merkdog and YOOOEE. I had been planning this trip for a week when I saw how cold it was going to get, I was hoping that we could just walk to the cache. We were able to make an ice crossing to the big island, and we were able to get with in 400 feet of GZ. The little island had ice flow on both sides of it. and there isn't much of that island left. it's basically a sand bar with a few logs washed up on it. I would be very surprised if the cache was still on the island.
