Near the top of a blooming big hill!
This is not my usual cache and dash, it's a lot harder to do!
Drive to Mosedale, between Caldbeck and the A66, then turn off at the sign for Swineside. This is mostly a single track road and will take you to the bridge where you can park up. From the car it is 0.31 miles to the cache.....heh..heh..., but it's all uphill! It is a small Tupperware box, approx 6x4x2 inches, which is hidden under some stones at an altitude of 1549 ft....so my GPSr tells me , near to the top of a hill between 'Great Calva' and 'Knott' on the edge of the Lake District. You will climb 569ft to reach it! Because of this I have added a couple of spoiler photo's. Wear decent footware, as it is quite steep in places.....well most of the way, actually ,and start at the bridge where you take the well defined track up the hill. Once near the cache, follow your GPSr. Hope you enjoy the views. (see photo's)
