Geocache Description:


To celebrate the milestone of their 100th cache placed, Team Marzipan placed a cache called 'The Mother Cache' (GC15RYZ). The object of The Mother Cache is for finders to remove one of the ready-prepared 'daughter' caches from the mother cache, BUT ONLY if they are going to hide it as a Daughter Cache.

This Daughter has been placed close to The House of Correction in Hawarden village. She has no writing implement on board, so please take one with you to sign the log.

The House of Correction is at the top of Cross Tree Lane, Hawarden, where it meets the junction of Glynne Way, (see gallery photo) and was built in the middle of the eighteenth century to house prisoners before trial or their removal to the County gaol at Flint. Adjacent to the House of Correction was the site of the parish stocks and the whipping post. To this day, the stone lintel above the door, still bears the inscription "House of correction".

GZ is at a very busy junction so please take great care when accompanied by children or pets. This is also a busy muggle area so please use stealth when retrieving and replacing the cache.

Parking is available just down Cross Tree lane in a large layby near the school entrance. This parking area can be chaotic at school start and finish times.
