I dont want to say too much about this cache for fear of giving away what you encounter along the way. The way this works is that first your will visit the coordinates listed here and find a clue to finding the next location. This is NOT an easy cache. There are a total of 5 containers but there is no reward until you find the final container which is an ammo can that will be in plain veiw once you find where to point your flashlight which you MUST have to complete this multi-cache. As far as terrain goes here is a basic walkthrough. Completing this adventure will require 4.5-5 miles of hiking through everchanging terrain and carrying a lunch and plenty of water is advised. It took us 8 hours to place this cache and return to the car with each location already known and plotted in our GPS and an extensive knowledge of this area. You will arrive by car at the Macedonia cemetary in Pennyrille Forrest. You may park there as this is where we often park to ride mountainbike trails adjacent to the cemetary. The first clue is located inside the cemetary. NOTE* there is no actual cache at this location* Once you have found the clue to the next location you may cross the road on foot and it may be helpful to study the map of the trails and/or have a good topo of the area. From here you may choose to follow the trails to the next TWO points or simply cross country it through the woods. After you have found the second container the marked trails will be of no more use. That being said there are many overgrown trails and log roads that you may encounter as you work your way toward your final destination. The approach that you take is up to you. At times this cache will take you very close to the boundary of Pennyrile Forrest which is obviously marked with red painted rings around trees. We highly discourage wandering onto the adjacent private property for any reason as there are posted no trespassing signs and the fact that it is heavily hunted. This is a very difficult hike through at times very rough terrain. At times there will be very steep hills and many many creeks to cross. You will encounter many thorn bushes, vines, fallen trees ect. Please do not attempt this cache with small children or if you question your own physical ability and condition. Cacher discretion is highly advised. Depending upon the time of year there will be ticks and snakes and wildlife of all kind as well as poison ivy everywhere. Tools required for this quest will be of course a GOOD quality GPS, a flashlight, a notepad and pen to write down the clues that you will find in each container leading to the final. PLEASE carry plenty of water and do not head into the back country alone on this cache or on any occasion. This cache will take anywhere from 5-10+ hours so head out early and be prepared for anything you may foresee happening. For instance it is ALWAYS a good idea to carry several extra batteries for your GPS and flashlight. If you dont head out early enough you may end up walking out in the dark as we did when placing this cache. ====================================== First clue-YOU MUST HAVE THIS INFO SO WRITE IT DOWN IN YOUR NOTEBOOK ====================================== When you arrive at the Macedonia Cemetary look for the tree of stone and find the year it was planted. These four digits will be inserted into the following coordinates in this format ABCD For example IF the year it was planted was 2056 then A=2 B=0 C=5 D=6 This is of course not the answer so find the correct year and insert the digits into this puzzle. N37 C4.B5C W87 3B.C52 Then put the coordinates into your GPS and find the next location. ALSO please be respectful of the cemetary and remeber there is NO container at or near the Macedonia Cemetary so dont go tiping over headstones looking for one. The coordinates that you get from the Macedonia Cemetary will take your to the Collins Cemetary and you will be looking for the first container which will be located near the edge of the cemetary and should be easy to find. The next clue will be written on the inside of the container. Good Luck. ============================================ Again this is our first cache that we have placed. We enjoy a challenge so we tried to create a good one. Feedback is encouraged. Contact us at fo_to_grafer@yahoo.com
