Geocache Description:

Located in one of Texas’ most beautiful state parks.

This wonderful state park, located approximately 9 miles north of Tyler, offers camping, fishing, hiking, bicycling, relaxation and geocaching. There are now four caches in the park. Note! Admission to the park is $3. You must go to the park office and pay the entrance fee or show them your Texas State Park Pass in order to log this cache! By doing so, you will help geocaching continue to be a readily accepted use of Texas State Parks by parks management.Tyler State Park was developed by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp) between 1935 and 1940 and is one of 31 CCC state parks in Texas. Many of the natural and cultural features of this park are often overlooked. This four-step multi-cache is designed to provide geocachers a self guided interpretive tour through the park’s natural and cultural resources. The coordinates above will take you to the first step of the multi-cache where you will find a brief description of the resources in the area and the coordinates to the next step of the cache. Proceed through all of the steps and you will find the final cache hidden in a green ammo box. Each step of the cache will provide you information regarding the resources in that area of the park. Please be respectful to all of the resources and remember if you pack it in, pack it out.

Step 1: Immediately adjacent to a running spring in a hollow tree.
Step 2: Under large rock N of bridge.
Step 3: 12 paces from trail under several rocks by a stump.
Step 4: Provides a good bench to rest on.
