Geocache Description:

Short hike, but bring water and watch out for critters.

Biltmore Tanks Cache This cache is placed in honor of days gone by when I would meet up with friends at Squaw Peak Park and hike over the hill to the water tank. There was a small hole in the fence and a piece of roofing pulled back from the roof so that we could dive in!!

WARNING: THE TANK REFERRED TO NO LONGER EXISTS!!

The tank is long gone although you can still see it on a Topo map where it used to be, looking straight South from where the cache is located. Amazingly, the red sidewalks in the now developed area are still there as I remember. Everything else has changed. Cache is medium sized and not more than 20 feet from trail. Please, no bushwhacking needed or allowed in the park!! Start your hike from the Mohave Parking Lot. Head up the 200 until it branches. Take a left on (200A). The trail branches again shortly, and is marked 200 Alt. Proceed on the 200 Alt. until you see the old trail down to where the Tank used to be. There’s a house built there. Don’t go that way!! Please no trespassing. Proceed on the signed trail. Cache is just past this junction continuing on the 200Alt.
