Taman Negara is Malaysia's first national park. A visit to Malaysia without a visit to Taman Negara really is a wasted trip.
Reaching the park is an adventure in itself. The best way of getting there from Kuala Lumpa is to take a bus to Kuala Tembeling then take a three hour canoe trip up Sungai (river) Tembeling. A fantastic experience in itself. In terms of accommodation there are really 3 choice. You can stay at the park headquarters (plush but expensive), in Kampung Kuala Tahan (cheep and cheerful) or at Nusa Camp ( a little more remote and quite - our choice).
The trails around Nusa camp are a lot quieter than those near the village and park headquarters. To reach the cache will take about 1 - 1.5 hours from Nusa camp. As tree cover (there are a lot of these!) can hinder GPS reception we had better tell you that the cache is just off the Gunung Warisan trail. Once you are near to the cache there is a break in tree cover and you should be able to get to it no problems.
The cache is the usual 'Lunchbox' tupperware box full of an assortment of goodies.
Please make sure you take the spoiler along with you for this one. Also, make sure you have plenty of water as it's a hot trek! Wear long trousers as you will have to push through some bracken at the top.
