Do you have a thing for word puzzles? Bring your paper and pencils. This may be the cache for you. You must be willing to go the distance because this is a tough one.
Scrabble is a board game that is in 1 out of 3 American households. It is a game that was developed based on the popularity of the crossword puzzle that began in America in the early 1900s.
In this game, one must go to all the way points posted and record the letter AND that letters’ value to get to the final cache. The coordinates listed above are for parking.
So here the problem begins. It is not easy. We have placed 4 waypoints that you must find. You are looking for Scrabble tiles at each spot. Record the letter and the value attached to it. Do not take the tiles. Once you have found the four tiles, unscramble the letters into a word, which is a clue for the fifth point. Then take the letter values and insert them, in order, into the blank below for the fifth waypoint. Of course, each letters value is important and that is what leads you to the fifth spot.
Waypoint #1 N 47 44.059 W 122 15.895
Waypoint #2 N 47 44.145 W 122 15.730
Waypoint #3 N 47 43.775 W 122 15.786
Waypoint #4 N 47 43.698 W 122 15.546
Waypoint #5 N 47 43.659 W 122 1_. _ _ _
At the fifth spot, you will find the coordinates to the final cache. Waypoints 1 through 4 are in random order. You may find an easier way to get to all four by studying the maps at the trail heads.
Good luck. It will be a long hike. In our last run through checking the coordinates, it took us two hours. (And we knew where the things were!)
This is not an easy one. Satellite reception at ALL locations is VERY POOR and the terrain is very tough at some points. Everyone may not enjoy it.
The park hours are 8 am to dusk. Be sure to have fresh batteries and a good tread on your shoes.
This is the second of the "Pieces of the Puzzle" cache series. Please be sure to record the information on the puzzle piece to complete the series.
