Geocache Description:

NOTE: The above coordinates do NOT indicate the precise
location of the cache. The above coordinates show the
location where the geocacher's radio message was recieved.
As the radio had a 3km. radius, the cacher must have been
within 3 km. of this point.

A meteoroid is a small particle of matter in the solar system that is directly observable only by its STAR-like glow from frictional heating on travelling a LINEAR path into the earth's atmosphere. If a meteoroid reaches the earth's surface without disintegrating it is known as a meteorite.
On January 1st, 2000 the geocacher known as Asterix was out placing a new cache when the earth passed through the path of the twin epsilon orionid meteors. Trapped close to the area of impact, he used his radio to relay the distress message seen below. Unfortunately, the electromagnetic field generated by the descending meteors rendered the message unintelligible to would-be rescuers. Sadly, after his distress call the cacher was never heard from again but it is thought he was carrying his geocache at the time.
