Geocache Description:

This is a regular cache and can be a drive-by or a nice afternoon walk. In order to find it though, you have to think sneaky, just like our daughter… wink!

We recommend that you bring your binoculars and/or camera to look for birds while you are hunting the cache. Jessica said you might even want to bring some crackers, as she thinks the birds will be hungry and would love to eat something.

Since this is Jessica’s cache, it will start out with items geared towards younger girls (she is 6). In addition to the logbook, we will start this cache out with a box of crayons, flower hair clips, a pack of frog stickers, white dress up gloves, a book of puzzles, a glow worm and Blustery Pooh TB.

It is located in a small park (Sylvan) on the edge of Lake Gertrude. The lake has no public boat access but dogs are allowed. On the weekends you will see people out playing in the lake, as it’s a “natural” for fishing, jet skiing and waterskiing. Also, you can walk or jog around the lake as many locals do. Part of the 3.5-mile circular trek will take you on a scenic home tour via a public sidewalk behind the homes (follow the trail southeast from the cache)… and the rest of the journey will be on the streets (Overlook, Old Eustis, and Morningside).

Do you see the yellow house with the big columns and circular driveway across the lake, ESE (110 degrees) of the cache? It can be yours for just under $1.5 million dollars… or check out the 17,500 square foot home on the north side of the lake, which is reportedly on the silent market for over $5 million… we live on the lake, but not in either one of these! LOL

You may also want to check out the lakes and parks of Mount Dora at: www.ci.mount-dora.fl.us/departments/parks_tour.htm and, check the calendar of events at www.mountdora.com for more information, as there is ALWAYS something going on in this town…

This is a great day trip for those who want to go on a ”multi-cache frenzy”, as there are several other caches within 1-3 miles of the downtown area. I hope you enjoy your time in Mount Dora!

There are four parts to the “We3+1” caches, one for each member of our family, and we hope that you experience all of them.
