Can You Solve The Mystery? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

jeff35080: Hmmmmm..... that's an interesting log and I for one would not want anyone to find themself in any trouble. The area in question allows people to take advantage of the jogging trail and work-out stations in the area, as I have done numerous times. In fact, the guards have waved at me numerous times. The kids and I have even played frisbee on the grounds on the weekends. There really are some nice, open fields there to enjoy. Since we are allowed to do this, I saw no reason why a small 1" X 3" container would be a problem. It may well be that there was just an over zealous gaurd, but to protect other geocachers from this type of scrutiny, I am archiving the cache and remove it this weekend. Cheers!

Jeff

Geocache Description:

Can You Solve The Mystery?

What is a mystery? Let's take a look at one of the definitions of the word:

mys·tery - the secret or specialized practices or ritual peculiar to an occupation or a body of people

That definition definitely applies to geocachers. We are quite a secretive group of people and have our own 'secret society'. For the most part, we are unknown to the general population. Often when we are seen in public performing our rituals people think we are strange. After all, we do place containers filled with trinkets and log books in the strangest of places; places where most people would never venture. Not only do we hide these containers in strange places, we go look for containers hidden by others of our mindset. All in all, geocaching is very mysterious.

To add to the mystery of geocaching, I have created a mystery cache. What I have hidden is a secret a.k.a. a mystery. Even though the geocache is a mystery, there are a few things I can tell you about the geocache. The geocache is hidden in a very public area. If you are shy about being seen while geocaching, then you should attempt to find this geocache under the cover of darkness or possibly bring along a camera so you can pretend you are taking pictures in the area. When searching for the geocache, I suggest being very stealthy. Remember, if you act as if you belong in an area, most people will never give you a second glance, but if you act mysterious, you will attract attention to yourself. You may want to leave the kids at home or in the car when hunting for the cache, as to not attract any undue attention yourself.

Once you locate the geocache, you may feel the need to remove it from the area where it lives to be able to actually sign the log. If you remove the geocache from the area, please make sure to return it to its exact hiding location in the exact same manner as you found it so the next geocacher can have the same fun experience as you did. By hiding the geocache back in the exact same manner, it also keeps the geocache from being discovered by non-geocachers. After you find the geocache, if you look closely at it you will see some information on it which you may find useful when dealing with the geocache.

Please do not post any spoilers in your logs. Any logs containing spoilers will be deleted.

Good luck on your search for this mystery geocache!
