Geocache Description:

This is an adventure that will require energy and preparedness. High clearance vehicles, bicycles and hiking are preferred methods of travel at 4000 ft. elevation.

Welcome to Crooked River Canyons: North Fork. You will see some extraordinary canyonlands, wildlife and even some special fauna at the right time of year. Bring a lunch and a camera. There is some nice ultralight fishing in these waters also. You won't regret this.

This is an adventure, not a walk in the park. Depending on weather, this can range in difficulty from a 2 to an impossible. Please come prepared for anything. Bring water. Well trained dogs and children are welcome. There is no need to place yourself in danger. In the summer, expect extreme heat. There is a chance of snow in the winter (4000'). SPRING RUNOFF RENDERS THIS CACHE IMPOSSIBLE. If that's not enough, between Dec 1 and May 1, there is a locked gate 9 miles this side of the cache. A bicycle would be perfect for this.

If you are still interested, go east from Prineville to approx 10 miles east of Post and turn on Teaters Road. Follow that up approx 6 miles and start working your way towards river.

Other than in the geocache, please leave only footprints and take only pictures. This is a special place. It is Wilderness study area. What do you think?
