As the crow flys, the cache is 7.4 miles from the Valecito trailhead at the Valecito Campground. but with the switchbacks of the trail you will walk a few more miles. It's a solid day's hike in. Going out, we were lighter and motivated and were able to make it out in 3 hours with no stops. The views are awesome. If you love backpacking, you will love this trip.
The container is just a one gallon freezer bag (I hope it doesn't get wet). Inside is a log book/pencil, a chem light, fire starter blocks, waterproof matches, a ligher, fish hooks, a bobber, 2 fishing flies, bandaids, gauze and tape. I just made it up out of the suppies I had on me.
The cache is buried under a rock. so when you start getting close, look for a natural landmark/s that would make a great marker for buried items.
I forgot to label the cache with the coordinates. So if any finder is so willing, please mark the cache with the coordinates and the name that this site assigns.
