Welcome to CITO: GEOMASH the TRASH 2015, an event brought to you by GEOMASH - Geocachers of the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys.
DATE - SATURDAY APRIL 25, 2015
TIME – 11 AM - 4 PM
This is a CITO event that we hope to bring cachers from all around to lend a few helping hands. There are several local hangout spots around the Shenango Lake that we plan to tackle. We’ll use the Shenango Campground as a central meeting place and break down into smaller groups and then go to the designated areas to be CITO’d, clean the area for a while and meet back at the Shenango Campground for a final trash collection and group photo.
Big thanks to Richard Egger of the Army Corps of Engineers for allowing us to use the Shenango Campground to stay overnight and giving us the opportunity to help keep the environment clean. More info will be posted in the coming weeks! Gloves and trash bags will be provided.
Below is a schedule of how I’d HOPE things will go for the event. The areas we’ll be cleaning are spread out and require driving to.
The plan is to meet at GZ to talk some caching, have a doughnut or 2 and then partner up with some fellow cachers attending to form groups of 5 or so. The groups will then go to an area to collect any trash, tires, scrap, etc at that location for around 2 hours. At about 2:30 I’ll start coming around to the different areas and load up my truck to take the trash back to the event location for a group picture of our efforts.
Some areas may require more people to clean and we’ll assign areas and groups according to how much cleaning is needed at each area.

NOON – 2 OR 3 pm - CITO cleanup (depending on amount of trash found)
2:30 – 3:30pm Trash collection from each location
3:45pm CITO GROUP PICTURE
