This cache was originally placed for the the First State Challenge 2015 sponsored by Delaware Geocachers! Although the challenge has ended, this cache is still available to be found!!

This cache is a field puzzle......you will have to use the plaque at the Listed Coords to get information to determine the final coords.

The final is located at: N38 34.ABC W075 36.DD4

From the plaque:
A = number of words in the 5th line of text
B = number of letters in Bethel's original name MINUS 1
C = number of letters in the word that describes the SEAMEN
D = number of letters in the first type of ship that follows the word "WOODEN"

Checksum: A + B + C + D = 26

The final is a 8” x 6” x 3” lock ’n lock type container.

Original contents includes a TB wishing to travel to Maine and hitch a ride on the Victory Chimes, the last remaining schooner built in Bethel.

Description:
The Bethel Heritage Museum and Historical Society is a great place to visit to learn about this shipbuilding town, the schooners, and their place in history.

During its peak between 1870 and 1920, this town on the Broad Creek River was a successful shipbuilding town. The Chesapeake Bay Ram, created in Bethel, was the favorite type of sailing schooner for navigating the shallow waters of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. With only three masts, it did not require many sailors to operate the ship, and it is considered one of the most successful sailing cargo vessels in America.
