CACHE NOW IS STOCKED WITH A LEARNING ACTIVITY!
This cache is the second in a series of educational GeoCaches
that have been placed in the Rochester area for Earth Science
students at Dake Junior High and Irondequoit High School. Each
cache contains information about local geology and/or natural
history and a learning activity. ALTHOUGH THESE CACHES ARE PLACED
FOR STUDENT USE, ALL GEOCACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN IN ON THE
FUN! There are no items placed in the cache for trade, small
trackable items are welcome.
This cache will acquaint visitors with the paleozoic sedimentary
strata of the Rochester River Gorge at the lower falls of the
Genesee River. Enjoy a beautiful walk in an oasis of nature right
in the middle of the city of Rochester!
There is a nearby EarthCache, Furnaceville Hematite (GC1GCKF)
(visit link) that has some great
information to help you with your learning tasks - CHECK IT
OUT!
Access to the area is dawn to dusk via the RG&E access road.
The cache is located on the east side of the road.
