The perfect cache for the cruise ship cacher....
On the evening of September 12, 2004 Hurricane Ivan's leading winds began pounding on Grand Cayman. Some 36 hours later, after the sea had almost completely inundated the Island, and after the winds which had reached speeds in excess of 200 MPH finally diminished, we awoke to a devastation that none of us could have imagined.

This cache is named the "Spirit of Recovery" as it is the first new cache on the Island since the storm. From the cache location, as you look across the harbor you will see our Port Authority docks, which even today are still working around the clock bringing in building supplies, cars, trucks, furniture and appliances.

This is a micro cache that contains only a log book (not even a pen or a pencil!) and hopefully will test your abilities to think outside the box. I have stolen the cache idea from Chillibusher, a fellow cacher in Canada, who is well known for his ingenious hides. This one was just too perfect for this location. It is in plain sight, you do not have to dig or lift anything to find it.

Good luck and enjoy your day in Grand Cayman, and if you want to hear a good story, just ask anyone...."where we you during the storm?"

PS "Spirit of Recovery 2" is an identical cache located near the Airport for our non cruise ship visitors!

Update as of February 24, 2005: Due to the number of DNF's I have visited the cache to make sure it was still in place! I am happy to say it is still right there waiting to be found. I am torn between leaving it as is or adding some further clues. I don't want this one to be easy, but on the other hand I know what is like to have to walk away from a "find" empty handed! So lets try this for a while!.....

"You probably need the decrypted clue to find this cache. the decryption is NOT a mistake"

Good luck!
