The cache is not in the cemetary, but it is especially important to not search at night as Commonwealth of Virginia law prohibits you from searching for this cache at night.
You have parked your geomobile between two sides of the South. The parking lot once served the Hampton National Guard Armory, which during my time housed a unit of the 111th Field Artillery Regiment (1st Virginia Artillery), either the 1st Battalion (Norfolk Light Artillery Blues) or the 2nd Battalion (Richmond Howitzers). At one time I was battery commander of A Battery, 1/111 FA. The building was constructed during the Depression for a company sized unit. It now belongs to the city as both the Newport News unit and the Hampton unit are jointly stationed in a new armory on Marcella Road.
In front of you is the cemetary where Mary Peake (1825-1862), for whom the former Mary Peake Elementary School was named, lies buried. Do read about this most remarkable lady on the marker before heading for GZ.
The cache is a small pill container type, though it really didn't hold pills. It is well camoed, but you should have little difficulty finding it using your geosenses. BYOP of course. FTF gains great satisfaction. Please return it to its comfy hide.
Congratulations to my old friend bdramatic and my new friend runswithsissors for their co-find within a half hour of posting. Difficulty has been increased to a "2" after a DNF and a check by C).
