Geocache Description:

Part D of The Walnut’s Cracked Series takes you to Hickory Run State Park. I highly suggest you complete Enjoy the Fire! before tackling this cache. Hint Hint Wink Wink. This letterbox is found along the Skyline Trail. YOU WILL NEED A TAPE MEASURE, A CALCULATOR, AND A HICKORY RUN STATE PARK MAP FOR THIS LETTERBOX!

When you get to part one, you will see a very large hemlock. Using the tape measure, find the circumference of the tree above the bottom branch but below the branch second from the bottom. DO NOT DAMAGE THIS BEAUTIFUL TREE IN ANY WAY. Calculate the diameter of this tree. If 20”, then N 41? 01.556 W 75? 43.746 If 40”, then N 41? 01.545 W 75? 43.747 If 80”, then N 41? 00.667 W 75? 43.967 When you leave part one, do not take the trail that you came on. There is another trail, not marked, that will lead you to part two. Use your geosenses and you will understand what I mean.

Part two takes you a leaning tree. Find the crevice with a container and answer the question inside.

Part three is a letterbox nestled in a tree. It is hidden from muggles, hunter muggles, and the wood’s inhabitants. First, sign and stamp the log with your stamp. Also, stamp your log, if you keep one, with the stamp inside. Secondly, and only if you are participating in The Walnut’s Cracked Series, you need to write down the numbers for part D on the lid. Return the cache as found. Have Fun and Good Luck!
