You are invited to a power Geocaching trail, brewery tour, and finally to Hamilton Pool for a day of Geocaching fun, food and frolicking. No purchase required at any venue, but there is an entry fee for Hamilton Pool.
August is Geocaching month. For Texas, most of us would rather cache when it was a little cooler, so we will begin with the Fifty Nifty Power Trail, have lunch and then end the day cooling in the Hamilton Pool, while we log the Earth Cache there.
Meet me at the McDonalds at 8:30 AM at the intersection of 290 and 71 where we can park the cars in the plaza parking lot and carpool to the Nifty Fifty in groups. Or you can head for the trailhead of the Nifty Fifty at the intersection of 290 and Trautwein Road at 9:00 AM. With so many pairs of eyes, we should make quick work of the trail. Find as many of the 50 caches along the trail as you can. At 12:00 head to the Jester King Brewery (visit link) There is a free brewery tour and you may sample some brews and eat pizza, or just hang out. Finally, the event log will travel to Hamilton Pool (see Website: (visit link) ) There is a entry fee of $15/vehicle, so we will again carpool. NOTE: Lone Star Pass for Day Use (Senior Citizens) No charge for age 62 or older) There may be a waiting line to enter or the pool may be closed due to high bacteria count, so we will have to make the decision to go there at Jester King the day of the event. To log this cache, you can show up at any of the three venues (McDonalds, Jester King, or Hamilton Pool. You must sign the event log to get credit for the cache.
